Space is the shit!

So I work for the government now, never thought about getting hired at NASA but I guess that's where the universe is taking me. My official job title is "branch office admin" under the direct supervision of Orlando Santos at the exobiology department.

I have my own office, which is fairly huge, and I get special access to be on campus & use their fitness center, among other things. They have classes like yoga, pilates, and some other form of pretentious Bay Area fitness snobbery - which I will be partaking in now. YAY!

part of my office

Most of the people in this building hold PhD's and are some form of bio/chem research scientist (including my supervisor) looking for extraterrestrial microorganisms found on Mars and the moon. Pretty interesting stuff! I've gotten lost quite a few times just inside the floor I work at, so imagine how much harder it was on the actual campus.

All I know is I'm conveniently located across from the cafeteria, a short walking distance from the health center, & a block down from the fitness center. The purple highlight on the map is the building I work in.

Part of me thinks I got hired because I mentioned an episode of the Big Bang Theory during the interview & because of my amazing personality, but I'm just going to lie to myself & tell people I got hired based on the fact that I have great credentials and experience ;)

Bonus: NASA uses Apple computers, so there's not much to transition to.

I'm pretty excited about the programs I'll be using and whatever fancy paperwork I'll be dealing with. Man, the scientists on this floor are super friendly and pretty hilarious too, so in love with this place!
